Pneumonia

Aah, life is never boring.

Adam came down with a horrible cough, and after a couple days, he went to Urgent Care and got a chest x-ray and it was determined that he had pneumonia. He got a prescription for antibiotics and cough syrup. It was helping a little, but not much. After a couple more days, he made a trip to the ER. They nebulized him and gave him a prescription for a different antibiotic and an inhaler. Again, it helped a little, but he was still coughing pretty bad. So, fast forward to yesterday, Adam made another trip to Urgent Care and he STILL has pneumonia. They gave him another prescription for antibiotics, so I think he is finally starting to feel better now. Phew.

On Sunday, Ally started coughing pretty bad, so on Monday, we took her into the doctor, she got a chest x-ray and strep test. Strep test was negative and the chest x-ray showed a little bit of pneumonia. Dang! So, she's on antibiotics right now (which she loves so much, not!) and today she seems to not be coughing as much, and her nose isn't as stuffed up. She seems to get well pretty quickly, which I'm extremely thankful for.

So, as you can see, our life has been filled w/ pneumonia activities for the past 3 weeks or so. I am just hoping I don't come down with anything. Adam calls me a "freak of nature" cuz I never get sick, or if I do it's not for more than a couple days. I told him that at least one of us has to be healthy.

Hope everyone is staying healthy out there and stay warm please!!! What is this -15ยบ business???

Slacking...

I've been slacking in the "blogging" department. I hope everyone had a happy new year. Ours was pretty uneventful. We stayed home and I was actually in bed by 8:30. It sounds so pathetic when I type it out. Oh well, I can safely say that our partying days are over (did they ever really start?).

Everyone is doing well. Ally is officially a 2 year old - in every way you can imagine. She has a mind of her own and it's "Ally's way or the highway". Oh well, she's our little diva, and soon she'll learn that she's not the boss - right? We did hit a few milestones with her though. On Christmas, she moved into a "big girl bed" (toddler bed) and Adam took apart the crib. Thanks to grandma Mary, grandpa Doug, auntie Shannon, and uncle Tony for the new "barbie bed" as she calls it. It's actually a Disney princess bed w/ a canopy, but whatever. She transitioned quite well, actually. Then, about 2 weeks ago, we threw away the Nuk's! ALL OF THEM. Trust me, if I had a backup hidden somewhere, I would've caved in and gave it back to her by now. Now it takes her a little longer to get her to bed, and we usually have to lay with her until she falls asleep, but that's okay. It was her comfort item for 2 years, I can't blame the kid. That being said, she really is doing great and being a big girl about it. Next, we get to tackle potty training! I'm not going to push that though, she just doesn't seem ready.

My cousin Ian got married this weekend to a wonderful girl named Amy. Unfortunately I missed the ceremony due to Mapquest giving HORRIBLE directions. I heard it was beautiful though. The reception was very nice, held at Northwestern College. That is a great location!

Anyway, I'll try to keep up with this a little better than I have been. My friend Abby has a blog, and 3 kids and she updates it almost daily...what's my excuse???
